The Art of Screen Writing




Peter Walters, Writer/Director/Instructor, is an award-winning poet, essayist and

playwright. He majored in Analytic Communications and Social Science at Utah Valley

University, where he also taught courses in and co-wrote a textbook on Narrative Semiotics,

and served as co-director and managing script analyst for the school's Short Attention-span

Theater. He studied dramatic writing from the founders of the Sundance Institute and has

several stage plays, two film scripts and one TV series to his credit. He has worked as a

media professional in Beijing for three years, taught graduate writing courses at Tsinghua

University, is the former Executive Editor of that's Beijing magazine and is the co-founder

of China Capricorn Group.
